Instructional Planning Activity Types as Vehicles for Curriculum-Based TPACK Development by Judi Harris & Mark Hofer. (kschelosky)

A more in depth explanation of what TPACK is and how to integrate technology into the classroom using TPACK.

This is a website I used in a previous class and I found it very helpful when learning about TPCK. http://www.tpck.org

A great resource is the book on TPACK titled: Handbook of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK) for Educators.(ccluesma)

Creating a TPCK Information

While researching a way to create a proper TPCK lesson, I found this website aptly titled "TPACK-Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge,." the link for the website is:

http://mkoehler.educ.msu.edu/tpack/developing-tpack/

This site has a section that addresses how to create a TPCK lesson plan using learning activities. I thought this very helpful since we have to create five of them for this class.

Digital Storytelling

An article for those interested in learning more about digital storytelling.
Using TPCK with digital storytelling to investigate contemporary issues in educational technology by Ellen Maddin

Here is a WebQuest I found that will allow you to explore TPACK in more detail. It also allows you to take a look at a few lessons and determine how well they address blending the knowledge of technology, pedagogy and content. (awitherspoon)

Articles

For UM-Dearborn students, a simple Mardigian Library searchfor TPCK or TPACK leads to articles such as "Realizing technology potential through TPACK" from Learning and Leading with Technology (36.2, September-October 2008). (cparkins)

I thought that this was an interesting article about TPK and online courses.

Example of Technology That Can Enhance Content and Pedagogy

  • www.pixton.com ---Use it for having students create comics in the classroom
  • www.epals.com --Use it for secure email accounts for your students.
  • www.audacity.sourceforge.net- Use for audio recording in the classroom.
  • www.freeplay.com- Use it to add music to your digital videos without infringing on copyright.
  • www.edu20.org- Use for creating a LMS for your classroom.
  • www.discoveryeducation.com - Use for variety of video clips to enhance lessons
  • www.blogger.com- Use for creating blogs
  • www.brainpop.com- use for short cartoon clips to help explain content
  • http://www.funbrain.com/- Use as extension activities for young children. They can practice reading and math skills using games. There are also some teacher resources available. (sbaldwin)
  • http://www.classdojo.com/- I recently discovered this website. It is used for classroom management and dealing with behavior problems. Students earn points for good behaviors and lose them for poor choices. I leave it up on my ENO board all day for them to see. Even though this site doesn't help learn a subject I feel that it is helpful because behavior is something that is taught and this is helping me to teach good behavior. (sbaldwin)
  • http://www.xtranormal.com/ is a site where users are able to create animated movies. This technology allows students to demostrate their understanding of concepts and ideas.

Teaching with Technology Resources

Technology has been around for longer then the TPCK concept. This video illustrates a historical aspect of technology in the classrooms.
